RAJMATA KRISHNA KUMARI GIRLS HOSTEL, DESURI, DIST. PALI
Introduction
The
Hostel was started on 07th August, 1987 with a view to provide
opportunities to rural girls, especially from low income group
families to complete their schooling up to senior secondary level.
The hostel is managed by a Management Committee comprising of
Mahila Shiksha Samiti and officials of the Trust. Boarders attend
the Govt Senior Secondary School for girls situated just outside
the hostel premises.
Infrastructure
The
hostel provides all modern facilities and is a home away from
home. It is a safe and secure place and has proper amenities to
include large airy dormitories, computer laboratory, class rooms
for hobbies and tutorials, a well equipped library, large dining
hall and modern kitchen. During the year 2005-06, with grants from
the Monsoon Trust UK, most of the above facilities have been
added. The Trust has incurred an expenditure of Rs. 30,38,930/- on
development of facilities during the year.
Activities
In
addition to activities organised by the School, the hostel
authorities organised the annual educational tour to Bikaner,
Kolayat, Deshnoke, Nagaur and Bala Satiji Dham from 16th Sept., to
19th Sept., 2005. Girls participated in various sporting
activities at the District level and were winners in Kabbadi &
runners up in Handball. 12 Girls were selected for state level
Kabaddi & Handball. Girls also participated in Dist level
Science & Quiz Competition with Deepa Bhati & Kismat Deora
getting the first prize.

Excursions
A
three days educational tour for all girls of Rajmata Krishna
Kumari Girls Hostel was organized from 16.9.05 to 18.9.05. Girls
were taken to Nagore via Jodhpur and visited Nagaur Fort.
Thereafter they visited Karni Mata Temple at Deshnok and in the
evening of 16.9.05 reached Bikaner and stayed at Rajput Sabha
Bhawan. On 17.9.06 they visited Lalgarh palace, zoo, Gajner palace
and Kolayatji and other historical places. On 18th
the girls visited Meera Bai temple at Merta city and from there
they came to Satimata temple at Bala village before
returning to Desuri.
Development
Future
developmental plans include the following :-
(a)
Provision of Warden’s Quarters
(b)
Construction of toilets for students.
(c)
Construction of Tanka to harvest rainwater.
(d)
Repair of main dormitories.
(e)
Construction of class rooms.
The
Trust plans to complete the above works by end of 2007. |
