The Trust was registered with the Sub-Registrar of documents, Rajasthan Government, on 12th April,1972. Subsequently, it was registered under the Rajasthan Public Trust Act on 3rd March,1975 before the Assistant Commissioner, Devasthan, the registering authority under the aforesaid Act.
The hospital of the Medical Trust is located in the Rajdadiji-Ka-Nohra, inside Sojati Gate, Jodhpur and was established in January,1980. On May 25, 1993, the post of Director-cum-Controller was created and the hospital up-graded. Many specialists were appointed in medicine, surgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, obstetrics, gynecology, dentistry, physiotherapy, pathology & ENT.
The Rajdadiji Hospital is situated in the heart of the city and is most accessible. At present with a 50 bed capacity, it has the provisions to increase to a 100 beds. The hospital caters to the needs of many different economic sections of society. The Apollo Hospitals Group has international affiliations with The Royal College of London, The Mayo Clinic and The Minneapolis Institute, U.S.A., and will be able to keep in line with the latest developments in the medical world.
The Trust has adopted sixteen villages in the rural areas for the care of women and children. Income generating programs are linked to health programs so that the all round socio-economic condition of the families improve, with the 'Healthy Family' the ultimate result. This program, The Veerni Project, is being financed by Ms. Jacqueline de Chollet Towbin of the Global Foundation for Humanity, New York. Besides women empowerment programs, health care, immunization, plantation and greening programs are also undertaken in this project.
A project was undertaken in six drought affected villages in Shergarh Tehsil (Famine Relief Project 1988-89), west of Jodhpur. A comprehensive survey was carried out of the population vis-a-vis malnutrition and immunization, of children and pregnant women. A medical team visited the area every week. Children and women were treated for various ailments and all medicines were provided free. Those patients requiring investigations and further treatment were referred to the hospital in Jodhpur. Under-nourished children were given extra nourishment in the form of nutritious food and complete records were maintained. An Immunization Program was taken up against six diseases; Tuberculosis, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio and Measles, and nearly all children in the age group 0-6 were immunized.
