Knowing that the child's brain develops to its maximum capacity in the first five years R.K.K gives the kindergarten children opportunities to help them develop their creative thinking process. The syllabus for Nursery: 

  • Daily conversation for ten minutes with the children, e.g. What is your name ? How old are you ? Where do you live ? What is the name of your school ? What is the name of your teacher ? How many brothers and sisters do you have ? Other topics of conversation; family, hobbies, day to day activities, food, transport etc.

  • Picture recognition of various objects shown through pictures, charts,  real-life objects, picture blocks.

  • Nursery rhymes taught with actions.

  • Activity based learning through video cassettes of  cartoons, fairly tales, fables; playing in the sand pit, making strokes in the air and sand to encourage muscular development, writing/scribbling on the black board.

  • Listen and draw. A story will be told by the teacher, children draw pictures associated with the story.

From November onwards written and oral: 

  • Basic strokes like sleeping lines, standing lines, slanting lines.

  • Recognition of alphabets in the order of the letters of the English alphabet through pictures, charts, books, various objects e.g. A for Apple, Aeroplane, Ant etc.

Mathematics: (Note: written work only after 3 months)

  • Recognition of numbers from 0 to 9. 

  • Counting aloud from 1 to 50..

  • Counting with the help of an abacus. 

  • Writing numbers from 1 to 10. 

  • Count and write up to 10. 

  • Missing numbers up to 20. 

  • What comes before and after a given number. 

  • Random dictation-dodging.

Preparatory is a stage of over all preparation to take on different subjects. Mastery over language is made possible through stories and nursery rhymes. Reading, writing and number work are to be made child's play taught through action songs and dramatized stories. Field trips to places of fun and practical knowledge helps children to bring out the best in them. Specially prepared worksheets help children to recapitulate what they have learnt. Assessments evaluate the child's progress at regular intervals and finally, at the end of the term.
